My future job

Hi guys, this time Im gonna talk about my future "dream job", I expect someday to work as a Arts History teacher in a internationally renowned institution. After the completion of my current studies program I expect to enroll in a masters degree in Classical Studies to increase my knowledge about ancient civilizations and their Arts evolution.

I hope being able to start my career as an university teacher in the close future giving classes about Art History from the V century B.C. to the II century A.C., focusing in ancient greek and roman artworks and marbles.   

Also It would be fantastic if someday i could write a group of short novels related to contemporary south american gangsters, I think that violence and drugs can elaborate an interesting fictional reading. Creating a story that takes place in the slums of Santiago or Buenos Aires can be interesting to foreign readers that are looking to know more about the real life of many south american who live under the line of poverty.  

A country I would like to visit

Since i was a little kid I always thought about going to the United States someday, thinking about it now I can say that it would be a really good idea because the U.S its home of many world class museums and Art Galleries like the Moma in New York.

Besides the museums the west coast of the U.S. offers a lot of very interesting and fun places to visit, California its where you can go to great coastal cities like San Francisco and San Diego, the have great beaches where you can practice a wide number  of water sports or just enjoy the warm waters.

An Artist that admire

Well I admire a lot of artists from different historic periods, from Giotto to Monet and Hopper. This time Im going to write about the sculptors from the ancient time who created the marble of Lacoon and his sons.

This artwork it's attributed by Pliny the Elder to the Rodhian sculptors Athenodoros, Agesander and Polydorus and it's depict the death of the trojan priest Lacoon being eaten alive by a giant snake, the other two carachters beside him are his two sons.
It's believed that the marble was created arounde the year 50 B.C in Rhodes an island situated at the mediterranean sea that during that time was part of the Hellenestic Confederation.
The artowk shows us in a very dramatic way the last minutes of Lacoon who suffers the torture and suffocation made by the giant snake sent by the goddes Athena who was furious because the trojan priest didn't wanted to receive the gift from the greek army that was attacking troy, this gift was the famous Horse of Troy.

Biography

Hi, My names it's Walter, Im 28 years old and currenly im studying History and Theory of Arts at Universidad de Chile. I was born in Santiago and I lived for 12 years with my family and grandparents then during the year 2000 I moved to Vina del Mar. In Vina I graduated from Highschool during 2005. During my school time I really enjoyed the Arts classes because they allowed me to exercise my imagination and drawing skills, I really like knowing about Arts History because you can decode the artworks and their meanings.

At this time I live with my two brothers and my mother. my older brother it's a comercial airline pilot and my younger brother just graduated from bussines administration and now its looking for his first job.

I really like sports, I go to the gym 3 days a week, listening to classical music of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Prokofiev ans Shostakovich. My favorite music group is Toto from the Us I like their 80's themes because of their lyirics and rythms.
